the forever under-rated mb steps out on bh — after illustrious releases everywhere from mathematics to creme — with this gorgeous fifteen-minute epic, evoking the glory days of carl craig. on the flip, specter from sound signature draws the dancefloor in deep.

ltd warehouse found! at night was originally released by shakedown in 2002. later on, acts like alan braxe and mousse t. produced remixes. the chab deep mix was a digital- only release via panorama records in 2008. a friend of 200 heard the song at a hawaiian sail rave and posted it on facebook. 200 records fell in love with the track and decided to release a vinyl version. this release also contains the epic martin buttrich dub mix which was originally also released in 2008.

through the spirit realm is refracteds first lp to date, and it comes canadas excellent silent season, a home to rasmus hedlund, quantec, and asc, among others. enter the jungle quickly gives a picture of what s to come thanks to the track s abstract blend of animal sounds, a myriad of noises which is swallowed up the warm and dubby swings of the jungle is thick, a donato dozzy kinda lick. the whole lp follows a similar string of thought, one that binds stripped back techno together with deep ambience and slow moving plates of drone, the ritual begins is simply hypnotic and we could keep it on for hours on loop. its tribalism at its most cutting-edge, and an altogether fantastic debut performance from this growing techno personality.

long-serving brit in san diego james clements dons his familiar asc guise once more, for a typically atmospheric trip into deep, ambient-influenced abstract techno for canada s silent season imprint. as usual, there s much to admire, from the sparse percussion, glacial electronics and icy melodies of deep freeze, to the minimalist, modular sounding hum of closer raging seas. arguably best of all, though, is immersion, which sees clements expertly combine early 90s style dreamy ambient chords, textures and melodies think pete namlook or early irresistible force with scraped metal textures and impeccable idm beats

moscow label grow continues in fine creative form, seemingly not sticking to a motive or trend but rather concentrating on the strength of character within the music it releases. for the labels eighth release the artist is berlin based the marx trukker, who over the last 10 years has been developing his very distinct sound and recent output on labels like pluie/noir, the untold stories, and most recently noorden, have all been especially impressive. now on grow comes the 4 track vinyl * heavens crackling*, from the title one is expecting something awesome, and the album does not disappoint, right from the off, the first track: * a time well spent*, begins with celestial tones ringing out and the performance develops with great synth work, enlightened and very enlivening, spring is in step and something is beginning. the record continues at such a level throughout, overflowing with rich tones, warmth, and raw sounding percussion. in the second track, * all the boating still a tide to go*, deep warm bass and strings reverberate, as if amidst a hot harbours summer, then the ethereal synths return as magical breezes of cooling wind on a june day. on the bside comes the title track * heavens crackling*, the tone has cooled, there is an autumnal vibe, extended tones of an eerie but reassuring nature provide the ground, from under which a molten bass flows playfully. the final track, * i do anything but its so cold*, as the title would suggest, again time has passed, gone are the warm relaxed echoes of the the opening tracks, winter has come, and a strong percussive energy becomes the driving force of an especially deep and more introverted last track. in heavens crackling there is an uncanny understanding of time passing and representation of being, its present in the patience and performance within every track, and the effect of the album, which seems, like the seasons, to naturally come full circle, is for the listener indeed to experience a time well spent. top marks for the marx trukker!

this release is a collection of big names of the electronic music history, some of them are legends: pete tong & john monkman lead the list of big artists in this ep, they had produced the bumps a few months ago and now we can see the remixes of that track.

drumma records presents its second collaboration with romanian duo vinyl speed adjust (vsa). the ep titled the awakening shows us vsas intelligent approach to music, an ideal fit at drumma records where creatively effervescent music is embraced with open arms. the record has 4 tracks. the eponymous the awakening is a special trip between break rhythms, modern jazz and a dreamy perpetual arpeggio. it creates a great mood for artists who want to present something special during their set. a2 is the grind, a very strong and acid track with a powerful evolving bassline that creates perfect suspense. inspired by the 90s, its raw and its analogue, definitely a hot track. monoxide comes with a linear rhythmic pattern and a very deep sub-bass sound fused with trippy synth soundscapes, ideal to put in a mental note during a session. the release is topped off with an amazing remix by the great valentino kanzyani. hes brought his own approach to the grind. the remix is a track with very strong groove and an intelligent evolution that creates small sonic worlds at every turn. valentino knows how to masterfully work a constant crescendo where tension and rest is perfectly resolved and we can feel his approach to techno at its best.
